WHO ARE WE?
Currently, TKN Associates Inc., (herein referred to as just TKN) is made up of its 2 co-founders, Lori Bierig and Stacey Griffith, who are looking to their combined 20+ years of experience derived from working with those suffering with mental illness, including alcohol, drug, and gambling addictions; In addition to this, they assisted individuals in securing and maintaining housing as well as homelessness prevention; and lastly, and most importantly, they have spent the last several years helping individuals with limited income reach financial stability.
WHY ARE WE?
TKN Associates Inc. was created in 2021, in response to so many small, non-profit, social service agencies folding. Human service agencies across the board, had become severely limited in scope and increasingly overtaxed by their constantly expanding caseloads and lack of new and innovative resources. Representative Payee Agencies became especially impacted. Our official start date of record is March 24, 2021. On that day we were formed, and by April 1, 2021, we were in an office, we had business cards printed, and we started taking Fee-For Service Representative Payee Referrals. Here it is mid-April of 2022, a little more than a year, later and TKN Associates has completed the following: · Become a non-profit corporation and a public charity, · Obtained our tax-exempt status under IRC section 501 (c) 3, · Obtained tax-exempt status under the state of Massachusetts. · Become an approved Fee-For service Representative Payee, sanctioned by the Social Security Administration. So, what does that all mean? It means we are a licensed, bonded, and insured corporation, that works with individuals of all ages, income levels, personal living situations, levels of executive functioning, etc., that are somehow involved in receiving financial assistance from someone. While most of our clients, at this point do receive Social Security benefits, Social Security Insurance (SSI) or Social Security Disability, (SSDI), and find themselves unable to manage their finances. However, it does not stop there. If you’re thinking I want that!!! or I need that!!!! You've reached the right place. Just a few answers, No, you do not need to have a disability. No you don't need to receive Social Security Benefits to apply for our services. Some of our clients are court mandated, by housing court, to seek us out, simply to keep their rental payments on track, on time, and up to date. Some clients just plain struggle with managing money, and that’s ok too. Whatever your issue with managing money is… you are also the people we are here for.
OUR MISSION STATEMENT!!!
TKN's mission is to provide representative payee services to the underserved and unrepresented members of our society in a multitude of areas. Representative Payee services for SSI and SSDI beneficiaries who have been identified as needing assistance with managing their benefits. We are devoted to assuring all our clients, no matter how or why they ended up with us, are treated with empathy, integrity, kindness, and respect. By assisting the young, elderly, disenfranchised, disabled, and underserved members of society, TKN will serve the at-risk population of throughout certain areas of Massachusetts. Our best hope, is we can help our client’s conquer their demons and reach whatever goals they have set for themselves.
